Congratulations to Handful Players board member Takija Gardner on her new promotion to District Executive Director of the Buchanan and Bayview Hunters Point YMCA Centers. Her amazing work and innovative leadership at the Bayview location led to an expansion of quality programming during a time of great change in the community. Takija is no stranger to the Buchanan Y, either, having previously served as the Associate Executive Director at this branch as well. As many of you know, the local YMCA chapters are essential partners to Handful Players, with the Buchanan location an integral aspect of our performing arts programs. We’re so excited to work with Takija in this new capacity and look forward to a bright future of expanded programs and services for youth in the Western Addition. Brava, Takija!
